We love all the great feedback we get from our exhibitors at Kent Vision LIVE. Hearing how the event has had a positive impact on their business makes all the effort that goes into its organisation feel worthwhile. In the first of what will be a series of exhibitor success stories, we spoke to Lemon Creative’s Drew Selman to find out what exhibiting at Kent Vision LIVE means to him and his business, and why he can’t keep away!
Drew has exhibited his award-winning design agency, Lemon Creative, at the last six Kent Vision LIVE events. He keeps coming back because of the opportunity the event provides to develop and nurture a wide range of relationships with prospects, existing customers and other contacts within his business network.

Drew believes passionately in the value of building relationships. Because this is best done face-to-face, he is a serial exhibitor, and Kent Vision LIVE is the first event he books every year.
“My primary objective is brand exposure; getting in front of new prospects, and also reminding existing contacts who I am and where I am. Exhibitions offer a great tool to enable me to do that,” explained Drew.
“For me, it is about consistency though, I see people who do just one exhibition, look at the sales they made on the day, and don’t do any more, and I think they are missing the point,” he continued.
Exhibitions are the cornerstone of Drew’s promotional activity. He told us that, despite all the hype around social media, he still believes that face-to-face contact is essential in business. In one day, exhibitions enable him to interact with more of his existing connections than he could in a week if he chose instead to travel around having ad-hoc catch-ups over coffee.
Of course, Drew is also looking to develop new business when he comes to Kent Vision LIVE. But he consciously doesn’t aim to sign deals on the day; his focus is on building relationships. “I give advice, introduce my business and build relationships,” he continued. “As a result, in the weeks and months following a Kent Vision LIVE event I’ve had lots of new business from people I met there. And those clients, introduced and nurtured through face-to-face contact, have all gone on to do more work with me.”
Why does Drew choose Kent Vision LIVE? “Because of its size and location. It’s a must-attend event for me when looking to interact with customers—both new and existing—plus partners and suppliers.
“There is so much going on at the event that people can make a day of it, which is a lot harder for delegates to do at smaller shows,” added Drew. “Plus, sitting between the two main motorways in Kent means it’s easy to get to the event from anywhere within the county—and beyond. I think those factors help Kent Vision LIVE attract such a large audience. I’ve yet to be disappointed by the footfall on the day; it’s phenomenal!”
Drew also cited the support he gets from the event team when we asked him what he felt made Kent Vision LIVE stand out.
“Everyone on the team is such a great help. Everything they need me to do is made as easy as possible, and any questions I have are always answered quickly. They also give me a nudge if I forget to send info they need—but always in a nice way.
“As a design agency, I’ve been approached by first-time exhibitors to help with design for their stands, and they have always said that they too have had a great experience and have been well supported—from the time they booked through to the show and beyond.
“It’s obvious that the whole Kent Vision LIVE team wants to make sure we have the best event that we can, nothing seems to be too much trouble,” concluded Drew.
